Our practice includes zoning, economic development, tax increment financing, land acquisition and sale, annexation, eminent domain and condemnation. MUNICIPAL LAW
Del Galdo Law Group, LLC's governmental practice includes providing general and special counsel legal representation to various units of local government, including municipalities, school districts, park districts, public boards and commissions and governmental authorities. The services the firm provides includes representing municipalities in general corporate matters; employment; rendering advice to elected officials, officers and department heads; drafting legislation including, ordinances, resolutions and proclamations; prosecuting ordinance, traffic, zoning and liquor license violations; conducting administrative hearings; providing counsel in land use, development, tax increment financing, and public sector financing; negotiating, reviewing and drafting contracts, intergovernmental agreement, and settlements; reviewing special assessments; negotiating contracts for water distribution; handling litigation which includes, but is not limited to, litigating claims against and bringing claims on behalf of municipalities, drafting motions and settlement agreements, attending arbitrations, negotiating settlements; attending Board meetings and Zoning Board of Appeals meetings.
LITIGATION
Del Galdo Law Group, LLC maintains a staff of attorneys who routinely appear in state and federal court to litigate matters on behalf of the firm's governmental, corporate and individual clients. The firm's litigation department handles litigation at both the trial and appellate court levels in matters that include, but are not limited to, chancery and equitable remedy matters, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, constitutional law, discrimination, employment actions, civil injury and personal injury defense, real estate, civil rights, administrative agency and other general matters.
The firm primarily litigates in the United States District Court (Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division), the Municipal, County, Law and Chancery divisions of the Circuit Court of Cook County, the 18th Judicial District (DuPage County), the Illinois Appellate Court and the Illinois Supreme Court.
The firm's attorneys also frequently litigate matters before local, state and federal administrative bodies.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Del Galdo Law Group, LLC has significant experience in representing both public and private sector clients in economic development projects and infrastructure development projects. Our firm's representative experience includes representing a governmental unit for the redevelopment of a $40,000,000.00 age restricted living facility which included the negotiation of tax increment financing incentives; representing a governmental unit for the establishment of various tax increment finance districts, including a tax increment finance district which has provided approximately $10,000,000.00 in incentives for, among other things, the development of two industrial parks and an automobile dealership; negotiated and represented clients in a 43 acre assemblage for construction of a 300,000 plus square foot commercial retail mall; representing a governmental unit for the negotiation of agreements to purchase water from the City of Chicago and supply water to seven (7) other communities; and representing a governmental unit for the construction of a $30,000,000.00 plus water transmission system.
CORPORATE LAW
Del Galdo Law Group, LLC has a significant practice in the area of corporate law. The firm and its attorneys act as general and special counsel to a variety of corporations providing representation in varied business matters, such as, asset and stock transfers, contracts, construction, employment and labor disputes and negotiations, and litigation.
Del Galdo Law Group, LLC and its attorneys additionally represent employers and employees in civil and criminal investigations conducted by the state and federal government.
